The OecoCan is a round container with a solid cardboard appearance from OecoPac Grunert GmbH. Depending on product requirements, it can be manufactured as a solid cardboard can or as a version with an additional barrier function. If no special product protection is required, it is a particularly eco-friendly cardboard can. If protective features are required, it can be equipped with aroma protection, water vapor protection, oxygen protection, or migration protection. Its main advantage lies in the combination of a high-quality cardboard appearance, reduced plastic content, and customizable product protection.
Materials & Construction of the OecoCan
The OecoCan can be manufactured using recycled FSC-certified cardboard or FSC-certified virgin fiber cardboard—depending on the specifications, contents, and desired appearance. The base and lid are available in different variants depending on the application, including as an all-cardboard solution. If the product requires protection, the OecoCan can be equipped with a suitable barrier. Using an OecoCan cardboard lid significantly reduces the amount of plastic in the packaging. In addition, the lid can be printed, creating more space for brand communication, product information, and design.
Sustainability & Product Protection at OecoCan
In principle, OecoPac can always evaluate a solid-cardboard can as a particularly eco-friendly option. However, the actual requirements of the product being packaged are the deciding factor: If no additional product protection is necessary, the solid-cardboard solution is the most logical choice. If a barrier, tamper-evident closure, or special design is required, the packaging is adapted accordingly. In this way, the OecoCan follows the OecoPac principle: as much sustainability as possible, as much product protection as necessary.
